Begin Anew
As we look back at the end of 2021 and forward to 2022, it is natural to start thinking of new beginnings.
Many of us look at the turn of the year as a chance to start new, better habits, or to get rid of things holding us back. I, for one, think that this last week leading up to the new year is an excellent time for reflection and planning.
Reflect on the Past
What accomplishments are you proud of this year? Have you met some of the goals that you set for yourself? Moving forward, how can you make your goals more motivating and achievable?
This year, I went back to school (again!). This time, not for another bachelor’s degree or a master’s degree, but for certification as a practitioner of homeopathy. Becoming a homeopath has been a dream of mine for many years and last year I decided to just go for it. It was a scary leap, but I’m so glad I’m doing it.
While I’m super proud of myself in that arena, I’ve really neglected some other areas of my life. Recent reflection has made me realize that I need to get a hold of my health again. Over ten years ago, I received the potentially devastating diagnosis of Crohn’s Disease. However, through prayer, sheer determination, and radical lifestyle changes, I healed my body of the “incurable” disease.
But since then, I’ve seriously let my health slip again. Having done drastic healing in the past, I know how to do to it again and am realizing that it is time for some healthier life changes.
Look Forward to New Beginnings
What about you? Are there any exciting, yet slightly scary, goals you are toying with? What life changes do you know you need to make? I encourage you to consider what’s holding you back, then find a way to blast through those barriers. Time is going to keep passing. You might as well be working toward something that excites you!
